Image Tags
Image tags are modifications to the original image. Users can publish new image tags, and they can contain updated dependencies and tooling useful for work on the project.
To add a tag to Coder, go to Images and find the original image. Click to open the image, then click Add Tag in the top-right. When prompted, provide the tag name.
In Coder, the image tag that the environment is running is stored in the cemanager. Users will be notified whenever a newer image tag is published.
Default Tag
Each image has a default tag. The default tag will appear at the top of the list and be automatically selected when creating an environment.
Changing the Default Tag
Changing an image's default tag is encouraged when a better one is added, as it will be the first selection when creating an environment. This operation does not affect existing environments.
When adding a tag, check "Set tag as default" to make this tag the default tag.

To use an existing tag as the default tag, click the 3 dot menu for a tag and select "Make default".
